Rory F. Joscelyne is a British writer from the county of Essex, England. Having grown up in a working class home in a troubled area of the county, he formed an opinionated view from an early age. This helped form the basis for his interest in human relations and the criminality of those with power.
Having successfully completed University, he focussed on acting both on stage and on TV before finding his voice again in text. This experience of stage and screen enabled him the ability to further explore the characters and not shy away from scanning into the darker sides of a person's psyche.
Trying to find his voice was not a quick or simple manner, however. Imperial Nova was four years in the writing and a difficult book to complete due to the isolated nature of the characters, in fact the entire second half saw a complete rewrite only four months prior to completion due to Rory's dissatisfaction with the original ending. After struggling to find how to write his voice in Imperial Nova, he is far more confident in continuing that savage edge in future novels.
Having no money and no contacts, he decided to compose his own unique marketing campaign using the skills and friendships he'd developed. This included finding new ways to print the novel, utilising the internet with sites such as Kickstarter and developing sites as adverts for the novels, scripting, learning animation to create special effects shots out of Jesper Ullbing's artwork, storyboarding and directing a cinematic trailer and working with musician Broken Bit to develop a musical theme for the novel series. A complex and involved strategy that will hopefully pay off.
